NOMC Offers Free Parking to Kick Off Customer Service Focus

As part of a customer service initiative being driven by NOMC’s new administrative team, the Pontiac-based hospital has made visitor parking free of charge effective January 17. The decision was made to enhance patient and visitor satisfaction, according to NOMC’s CFO, Michael DeRubeis, who made the announcement. Hospital visitors previously were paying $2-$3 per day for parking services.

Customer satisfaction has become a driving force of the hospital’s new President and CEO, John Graham, since being hired by the NOMC Board of Directors to run the hospital in May 2006. Other initiatives include remodeling and upgrades to the hospital’s 5th floor to create better traffic flow for staff while ultimately allowing quicker response times for patient care.

NOMC is a non-profit hospital based in Pontiac and was established in 1910 as Oakland County's first hospital. It is home to a wide variety of specialties including Maternal Services, Behavioral Medicine, Trauma, Surgical Services, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Cardio-Pulmonary Services, Radiation Oncology and Community Health. The hospital also operates an Ambulatory Care Center in Waterford, a Teen Health Center in Pontiac, Radiology services in Clarkston, a durable medical equipment company, and an internationally recognized intensive physical therapy program for children with neuromuscular disorders.
