North Oakland Medical Centers is a results-oriented program which provides a continuum of care ranging from the acute care setting to the home. Our rehabilitation program treats physical disabilities ranging from cerebral vascular accidents, spinal cord injuries, head injuries, orthopedic conditions and neurological disorders.

The rehab team develops a comprehensive plan of care which is tailored to the individual's disability,needs and recovery potential. Physical,psy chological,social and emotional issues are addressed in the plan. Specific goals are set and appropriate therapies (physical, occupational,social,recrea tional and/or speech therapies) are prescribed to meet them.

Outpatient Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Outpatient physical medicine and occupational therapies are also offered at the main campus and at the Waterford Ambulatory Care Center. Speech therapy services are available at the main campus.

During one-on-one individualized therapy sessions,ph ysical therapists assess joint motion,musc le strength and endurance, posture,sites of pain and performance activities required for daily living. Personalized occupational therapy services include: a
fibromyalgia program, hand therapy and job site evaluations, functional capacity evaluations and many others.

The Waterford Center offers
Med X therapy in conjunction with traditional physical therapy for treatment of low back pain and neck conditions.
